¶1. (C) On October 12, Charge d'Affaires delivered reftel
points to MFA State Secretary Matjaz Sinkovec and urged
Slovenia to advocate for a strong GAERC statement on Iran.
Sinkovec explained that while Slovenia preferred UN
sanctions, it had no problem with discussions about
autonomous European sanctions. He added that Slovenia would
"contribute as much as it can." Sinkovec noted that the MFA
was not prepared to say anything more regarding Iran at the
GAERC at this point, but he undertook to raise our concerns
further within the Ministry.
