¶1. (SBU) Poloff met with Ministry of Foreign Affairs US desk officer
Pamela Mkwamba on January 30 to discuss reftel demarche. Mkwamba
said that while she was not aware of an official GOM position on the
charter, that she was confident that Malawi would support it. She
said she would pass on the information presented. Any further
response will be reported Septel.
