(SBU) Poloff met with MFA Director of Political Affairs Paul Chiunguzeni on June 12 to discuss reftel talking points. While Chiunguzeni thanked Poloff for the information, he (along with other colleagues at the MFA) expressed ignorance of Malawi's role on the UNDP Executive Board. After speaking with local UNDP representatives, post has determined that all activities relating to Malawian Executive Board membership are handled by Malawi's Mission in New York. Chiunguzeni promised to contact the GOM Mission in New York to find out more details on Malawi's role as Executive Board member, and to pass on reftel talking points.
