(SBU) Econoff delivered reftel demarche on August 29 to
Shaykh Ali Khaled Al Sabah, Director of the Economic
Department and Acting Director of the Americas Department at
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Shaykh Ali noted that the
GOK has already provided significant financial and political
support to Mahmud Abbas and the PA Government. He was unable
to say whether the GOK anticipated providing an additional
infusion of financial assistance to the PA in the near term.
