(C/NF) On July 24, Charge previewed with Dr. Ahmed Nasser Mohammed Al-Sabah (Shaykh Ahmed),Chief of Staff to FM Shaykh Dr. Mohammed, reftel themes pertaining to the July 31 GCC 2 meeting. Shaykh Ahmed concurred with the proposed themes, but suggested that the discussion on IRAN not be confined to WMD concerns but rather encompass a broader review of Iran's role in regional security. "I assume our Minister will want this," he said. Shaykh Ahmed also inquired about a potential joint statement and asked that Kuwait receive a copy of any draft statement at the earliest possible opportunity.
