(C) On May 21, we delivered points in reftel to Principal
Assistant Secretary Khairi Omar of the Malaysian Foreign
Ministry's Americas Division. He inquired about the status
of Malaysia's request to interview the detainee, Zubair,
whether other countries had received access to their detained
citizens, and if Zubair's new status made gaining access to
him less likely. We declined comment on other detainees and
told Khairi we would notify them of any information on the
status of their request to interview Zubair as this becomes
available.
