On May 17, we delivered the points in reftel to the Malaysian
Foreign Ministry office covering the United Nations and
Disarmament in the Multilateral Political Affairs Division.
Principal Assistant Secretary Bala Chandran indicated that
Malaysia had voted in favor of the treaty in the UN General
Assembly but that he was unaware of any further multilateral
action on the issue since then. Malaysia's support for the
treaty is likely to continue.
