(SBU) Charge briefed the Malaysian Foreign Ministry's Under
Secretary for the Americas Ramlan Ibrahim on January 11

regarding the President's policy address on Iraq. Charge
urged Malaysia in its public comments to be supportive of the
President's policy announcement. Ramlan responded that he
would immediately convey the brief and our message to Foreign
Minister Syed Hamid Albar, who is currently in Cebu for the
ASEAN Summit.
