The Malaysian Foreign Ministry cannot yet confirm who will
represent Malaysia as their NPT interlocutor (ref A),
according to our July 26 discussion with the Ministry's
Multilateral PoliticalAffairs Division, United Nations and
Disarmament Office. The Ministry office could not confirm
that Ambassador Datuk Hamidon Ali would be heading the
delegation to the second PrepCom or if anyone would attend
the fall meetings, stating that it is too soon to communicate
such plans. We will continue to follow up and forward
information as soon as made available.
