Post informed the Malaysian Foreign Ministry of U.S. support
for Steve Carr as candidate for the Standing Committee of the
International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and urged
Malaysia's support for Mr. Carr in a message conveyed on July
25, 2007 to Bala Chandran Tharman, Principal Assistant
Secretary in the Multilateral Political Affairs division of
SIPDIS
Malaysia's Foreign Ministry. We have thus far received no
substantive response from the MFA.
