1. Per reftel (C),Charge' delivered demarche, and provided
copies of country-specific background, to the Government of
Jamaica (GoJ)'s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign
Trade, Dr. Kenneth Baugh, on November 16.
2. At midday on November 19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and Foreign Trade (MFAFT)'s Director for International
Organizations, Ms. Pamela Ingleton, confirmed to PolOff that,
in light of current developments in New York, Jamaica's
position regarding country-specific human rights resolutions
at the UNGA Third Committee was under review; however, no
final decisions had been taken as yet. PolOff noted that
Embassy would appreciate any further information which the
MFAFT may be able to provide regarding the GoJ's position.
Post will report any further information as it becomes
available.
