Foreign Minister Unresponsive to Iran NIE

1. (C) On December 4, Charge delivered to Foreign Minister
Sahana Pradhan and Lekhnath Bhattarai, Section Officer for
the Europe and Americas Division at the Foreign Ministry,
reftel non-paper and talking points on the key judgments from
the U.S. National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iran's
nuclear program. The Foreign Minister thanked Charge for the
information but did not comment specifically on reftel points.
UNMIN Mandate Extended
--------------
2. (U) Charge also inquired about the status of the GON's
official request to extend the mandate of the United Nations
Mission in Nepal (UNMIN). Pradhan said the Cabinet had
approved a request to extend UNMIN's mission for a six month
period, and that she believed the Foreign Ministry had
already sent the letter of instruction to the Nepali mission
to the UN in New York.
