On November 28, Emboff delivered Ref A non-paper on detection architecture model guidelines for the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism to Mani Bhattarai, Section Officer for UN and International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). After reviewing the document, Bhattarai said he would consult with his superiors as to whether Nepal would be able to send a representative to the meeting of Global Initiative partner nation technical experts in Washington, D.C., in January 2008. Bhattarai promised to inform Post of any comments and decisions by December 7. Nepalese Point of Contact To Be Determined -------------- ¶2. Emboff asked Bhattarai if the MFA had designated a Global Initiative point of contact (Ref B). The Section Officer said he would probably be the primary contact within the MFA, but the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology would likely have the technical lead. He told Emboff that he would inform Post when he knew additional contact details. Post will continue to deliver Global Initiative information to Bhattarai while the Government of Nepal deliberates a permanent arrangement. BERRY
