On November 28, Emboff delivered reftel diplomatic note and
requested Mani Bhattarai, Section Officer for UN and
International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, advise Nepal's delegation to the UN to vote for Mr.
Pierre-Richard Prosper, the U.S. candidate for the United
Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial
Discrimination. Bhattarai, noting that supporting the United
States is a priority for the Government of Nepal (GON),said
the GON is likely to vote for Mr. Prosper.
