(C/REL to Afghanistan) On June 25, polmiloff provided reftel A notification to Malik Quraishi, Director, Policy and Oversight, Office of the National Security Council (ONSC), who will relay it to Mohammad Zia Salehi, Situation Room Director. Salehi, our primary ONSC contact on detainee issues, was indisposed on June 25. Polmiloff reiterated Administrative Review Board (ARB) procedures, per reftel, and requested that the GoA notify the relatives of the six individuals listed in reftel A and provide any information that the relatives or GoA might wish to share in written form to the Embassy within 30 days of this notification. Quraishi acknowledged receipt and advised he or Salehi would provide a response. ¶2. (C/REL to Afghanistan) Polmiloff reminded Quraishi that a response on the six detainees listed in reftel C is due this week and that a response regarding the 11 detainees listed in reftel E also remains pending. Mr. Salehi had advised polmiloff last week that fighting in these detainees' home regions has made it difficult to get responses from their families and provincial officials. WOOD
