1. (C) We delivered reftel demarche to Dicky Komar, Deputy
Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs' (DEPLU) Human
Rights Directorate, and his assistant, Dicky Yunus. Komar,
who joined the Directorate two weeks ago following a tour as
Indonesia's economic expert at the UN, said that he had just
met with a UK diplomat on the same topic. Komar took note of
our input, but indicated that Indonesia would likely follow
the NAM/OIC lead on both issues. He promised to obtain an
update for us today on Indonesia's latest position from the
mission in Geneva. We will report any additional information
septel.
