1. (S/NF) On April 20, Post delivered reftel points to
Kamran Akhtar, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Disarmament Cell. Akhtar noted that although Arif Durrani -
the referenced individual being sanctioned under the Iran and
Syria Nonproliferation Act - is a Pakistani citizen, the
Pakistan government has never had any association with him.
Akhtar hoped any U.S. statement on the matter could
explicitly note Durrani's lack of ties to the Government of
Pakistan. Akhtar noted that information about Durrani
available on the internet showed he had lived in the United
States or Mexico since the early 1980s.
