As a matter of policy, the Government of Guyana (GOG) does
not send troops on Peacekeeping missions. Senior government
officials spend much time working to attract additional
assistance into Guyana. In private senior GoG officials tend
to disagree with U.S. policy and actions in Iraq. They do
not take the disagreement public as Iraq is a non-issue in
the Guyanese political sphere. In sum, the GOG has neither
the will, nor the ability, to contribute military or civilian
resources to the U.S. mission in Iraq.
