Post gathered the available textile and apparel figures from
Ireland for the 2006 year; 2007 figures are not yet
available. According to the Irish Central Statistics Office
(CSO),the 2006 figures for total industrial production and
total textiles and apparel production will not be available
until the end of 2008. The textile and apparel share of
Ireland's exports was 0.528 percent. The textile/apparel
share of Ireland's import's was 4.17 percent. Ireland's
exports in textiles and apparel to the U.S. in 2006 were
$24,295,600; imports from the U.S. in 2006 were $48,335,000.
Total manufacturing employment in Ireland for 2006 was
245,234. Total textiles and total apparel employment in
Ireland for 2006 was 7,416.
