(SBU) Irish financial institutions had not discovered any
assets or taken any other action on the basis of the 1267
Committee's previous listing of the name "Mahamedou Ould
Slahi" as an alias for Abu Hafs the Mauritanian, Emboff was
told on June 29 by Janice McGann, Department of Foreign
Affairs (DFA) Third Secretary for International Terrorism
Affairs, to whom Post had earlier provided reftel points.
McGann expressed appreciation for notification about the
removal of AKA Mahamedou Ould Slahi from the 1267 Committee's
listing of Abu Hafs, and she committed to inform Post if
Irish financial authorities were to come across information
on either individual.
