(C) Assistant Minister Mohamed al-Rumaihi, who holds the UN
portfolio at the MFA, told Ambassador May 17 that "Slovenia
is good" as an alternative to Belarus for a position on the
Human Rights Council. Rumaihy complained that the Council was
still attracting the "non-human rights countries" that made
its predecessor ineffective. Ambassador pointed out that
Bosnia, with which Qatar has good relations, is also a good
candidate for the Council.
