1. (U) On May 18, local media reported that the Government
of Bangladesh canceled the recently renewed registration of
the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society (RIHS) because of the
Kuwait-based NGO's alleged support for Islamist militancy in
Bangladesh.
2. (SBU) On May 20, an authoritative official of the
government's NGO Affairs Bureau, which is responsible for
registering foreign NGOs, confirmed to us the cancellation of
RIHS's license.
