(C) On January 29, police told embassy contacts that former
Guantanamo Bay detainee Mubarak Hussain had been re-arrested
for violating Bangladeshi immigrations laws by entering the
country without a passport. He is in Dhaka Central Jail.
When Mubarak Hussain was transferred to Bangladesh custody on
December 17, authorities detained him for unspecified
anti-state activities. It is common practice in Bangladesh
to re-arrest a jailed subject on new charges, keeping them in
indefinite detention.
