(SBU) The Government of Tanzania will wait for the United
Nations designation of Farhad Ahmed Dockrat, Junaid Ismail
Dockrat and Sniper Africa, before freezing assets or blocking
transactions of these individuals and entity, Susan Mkapa,
Director of the Legal Services Department of the Ministry of
Finance, told Econoff on January 29. Mkapa confirmed that
Tanzania does not have a system of domestic designation and
does not act in response to other nations' domestic
designations. Econoff encouraged the GOT to begin an
investigation of these individuals and entity so that it may
take swift action when the United Nations makes the GOT's
requisite designation. Mkapa agreed that was a sensible
approach.
