1. (SBU) Attendance of the Head of State and Head of
Government

-- President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete

-- President Kikwete and his entourage will depart Dar es
Salaam on September 15, and transit Dubai and New York via
Emirates Airlines before arrival in Washington, DC. The
President will spend three days in Washington before
returning to New York on September 19. He will remain in New
York until his departure on September 29.

-- First Lady Salma Kikwete will also travel to the United
States. She will be travelling separately in West Africa,
and will travel directly from that trip to Washington, DC,
where she will meet the President. She will accompany the
President to New York.

-- Interpretation is not required.


2. (SBU) Attendance of the Foreign Minister

-- Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation
Bernard Membe

-- Minister Membe will accompany the President for the
duration of his travels.

-- Minister Membe will not be accompanied on this trip.

-- Interpretation is not required.


3. (SBU) President Kikwete's entourage will number 30-40
individuals. Further information regarding the attendance of
additional VIPs or Foreign Ministry officials is not
available at this time. Post will provide updated
information as soon as it is available.
