¶1. (U) On November 2, Econoff met with the Secretary General of the
Ministry of Finance, Karamokoba Camara, to deliver reftel demarche
list of three individuals designated by the U.N. as supporters of
terrorist financing.
¶2. (U) In response to the demarche, Mr. Camara confirmed Guinea's
continued support for the U.S. in the fight against terrorism, and
voiced the government's appreciation for sharing the terrorist
financing information with Guinea. He also said that to increase
the effectiveness of the interdiction of terrorist financing in
Guinea, he would meet with the Governor of the Central Bank in order
to discuss establishing a working group to implement future
designations. Any further substantive comments/reactions will be
reported septel.
