Emboff made reftel points February 6 to First Secretary Sebastian Sayus of the MFA's Office of International Security, Nuclear, and Space Affairs. Sayus, the MFA's point man for the February 13-14 meeting of the IAEA's Committee on Safeguards and Verification (CSV),replied February 7. ¶2. Argentina "fundamentally" agrees with the U.S. position as laid out in reftel, according to Sayus, and plans to support us in our aim to adopt the same format as was used during the last committee meeting. Argentina is also content to set aside Secretariat recommendations 12-18, another U.S. goal. Echoing Argentina's concerns at the last CSV meeting, Sayus told Emboff that Argentina would like to avoid additional financial burdens to member states. WAYNE
