1. (C) DCM and PolOff delivered reftel talking points to
Argentine Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Ambassador
Vicente Espeche-Gil and Deputy Director of the MFA's Office
of International Security, Nuclear and Space Issues, Minister
Ricardo Bocalandro on the afternoon of December 3. DCM left
talking points and the NIE "Key Judgments" as non-papers.
Espeche-Gil and Bocalandro thanked the DCM for the
information but did not offer any substantive comments at the
time. Embassy will follow up once the MFA has had a chance
to review the information.
2. (C) DCM asked whether the GOA would consider issuing a
public statement on the importance of Iran's complete and
transparent compliance with the relevant UNSC resolutions.
Espeche-Gil and Bocalandro made no commitments but Bocalandro
did ask if we had any timeframe or event in mind for making
such a statement.
3. (C) Bocalandro asked if we had any information on the P5
plus 1, specifically the positions of Russia and China, and
when the P5 plus 1 might make a decision on possible
additional sanctions.
