(C) POLMILOFF delivered reftel talking points and non-paper
on December 4 to MFA Director for Non-Proliferation, Arms
Control and Combating Terrorism Nineta Barbulescu and to MFA
Director for Middle East and Africa Daniel Tanase. In a
follow up conversation following MFA review of the U.S.
points, Tanase reported on December 10 that there was nothing
in the NIE that would cause Romania to reconsider changing
its current strategy in support of the U.S. position,
including to continue to press for additional sanctions
within the EU and supporting the UNSC sanctions process.
