Embassy responds here to Department request for updated
information on U.S. citizen expropriation claims or other
investment disputes with Belgium's federal government or
its regional governments or public entities (reftel).
Having reviewed post records, inquired at Belgian Federal
government level (Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance,
and the Central Bank),and consulted with private sector
groups (such as the American Chamber of Commerce),the
Embassy can confirm that no investment disputes of American
companies due to action by the host government are pending
in Belgium.
