This cable updates post's submission for part 1 of the 2006-2007 INCSR with full-year statistics for drug-related arrests and criminal cases in calendar year 2006. The text in paragraph 2 should replace the first line of the last paragraph in the section on "Law Enforcement Efforts" submitted in Ref B. In 2006, 1,722 drug-related criminal cases were investigated by the Slovak police, of which 953 cases were forwarded for prosecution. 1,256 separate individuals were detained for drug-related offenses, including 181 recidivists.
