1. After follow-up with the Department to obtain
clarification on ref A, on November 8 Econoff and MilGroup
Army Officer confirmed the purchase by the Colombian Army of
285 AN/PVS17 (M971) Mini Night Vision Gen III Omnivus V Type
MX 101060 Night Vision Devices (NVDs) from Nightline, Inc. of
Miami Florida exported under license No. 05-993622.
2. Colonel Luis Medina, Director of the Small Arms Office of
the Colombian Army, confirmed the Colombian Army's purchase
of 285 NVDs referred to in refs A and B. He verified the
following:
-57 NVDs with serial numbers 2147-2161, 2163-2203 and 2104
were received by the Colombian Army on June 23, 2007 and are
in use by the Colombian Army;
28 NVDs with serial numbers 2118-2140, 2142 and 2146 were
received by the Colombian Army on June 23, 2007 and are in
use by the Colombian Army;
100 NVDs with serial numbers 2018-2117 were received by the
Colombian Army on December 6, 2006 and are in use by the
Colombian Army, and;
100 NVDs with serial numbers 1923-1925, 1938-1945, 1950-1951,
1954-1955, 1964-1977, 1982-1983, 1986-1987, 1992, 1996-2001,
1918-1922, 1926-1937, 1946-1949, 1952-1953, 1956-1963,
1978-1981, 1984-1985, 1988-1991, 1993-1995, 2002-2017 were
received by the Colombian Army on December 6, 2006 and are in
use by the Colombian Army.
