REPORT TO UN SECURITY COUNCIL ON UNSCR 1737

1. (SBU) Global Affairs officer delivered reftel demarche and
text of the U.S. 60-Day Report on "Efforts Toward
Implementing UNSCR 1737" to the German Ministries of
Economics, Finance, and Foreign Affairs March 5. Ursula
Krumpholz, Office Director of the Economic Ministry's Foreign
Trade Law and Law of the Sea Division, Michael Findeisen,
Office Director of the Finance Ministry's Money Laundering
and Terrorist Finance Division, and Sabine Seidler, Deputy
Office Director of the MFA's International Economic and
Financial Policy Division, thanked us for sharing the U.S.
report. Seidler said that because Germany is currently
working closely with the UNSC Permanent Five on the next
steps for UN action on Iran, it appreciates being kept
apprised of the U.S. implementation. She indicated Germany
would present its views on what the next steps should be to
the UNSC Permanent Five via the German mission to the UN.
