(C) Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with
Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai March 1 in
Beijing. MFA officials confirmed the meeting after poloff
observed the Iranian delegation at the Foreign Ministry, but
did not describe the content of the consultations. Japanese
Political Counselor Kazuhiro Suzuki separately told poloff
that Araghchi is in Beijing, that he will travel to Tokyo
tomorrow for consultations and that the Chinese refused a
Japanese request for a readout on Araghchi's visit.
