America's Desk Officers Elchin Bashirov and Tamerlan Vahabov
on April 5. Bashirov and Vahabov thanked us for informing
them about the new designation and promised to investigate
whether the GOAJ had any dealings with Iran's Defense
Industries Organization (DIO). Vahabov also assured us that
he would pass the nonpaper to the Azerbaijani Ministry of
Defense in case they had any dealings with Iran's DIO.
