SUBJECT: SIGNING OF AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN AND THE REPUBLIC OF IRAQ
On November 18th an ICAA delegation from the Republic of Iraq
entered into an agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran to allow
air travel between Baghdad, Iraq and Tehran, Iran. Mahan Air is the
only designated air carrier from Iran, and Iraqi Airways is the only
air carrier from Iraq authorized to conduct flights between Baghdad,
Iraq and Tehran, Iran. The only route of flight authorized is G202.
The Countries have agreed to meet again in six months to review
and/or refine the procedures outlined in the MOU.
