(SBU) On December 19, DCM delivered reftel Action Guide to Combat TIP to Aristedes Agathocles, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Agathocles informed DCM that he was now the Coordinator of the Inter-Ministerial Group dealing with TIP issues for the GoG. DCM advised Agatholces that G-TIP Ambassador Mark Lagon would also present the Action Guide to Ambassador Mallias in Washington at their scheduled Friday, December 21 meeting. ¶2. (SBU) DCM advised SecGen Agathocles that the Action Guide was developed in response to requests from Greece (and other countries) for straightforward steps and criteria that would lead to a Tier One placement in the annual Trafficking in Persons Report. ¶3. (SBU) Agathocles thanked the DCM for the report and assured that he and his TIP experts would study it carefully and indicated that MFA TIP experts would contact Embassy TIP officers to discuss details further. ¶4. (SBU) DCM also informed the SecGen that Ambassador Lagon was considering a potential visit to Greece. Agathocles responded that the GoG would welcome such a visit. SPECKHARD
