(C) Ref A reports on the outbreak of wildfires in Greece. Early on Saturday August 25, MFA SecGen Agathocles told Charge that the government of Greece would welcome any and all support that the USG or U.S. Military Forces could provide to help extinguish the fires which were burning out of control throughout Greece. While Greece had in July requested only firefighting aircraft and/or funds to lease aircraft, this time, given the extent of the fires, the GOG would welcome ground assets such as earth moving equipment and firefighting personnel. ¶3.
