SWING AS U.S. CANDIDATE FOR IOM DIRECTOR GENERAL

(SBU) On July 9, poloff delivered reftel demarche to
Ambassador Alexandros Rallis of the D1 Directorate for the
United Nations and International Organizations. Rallis said
that while the Foreign Minister would take no action on the
information, he would deliver our points to her for
informational purposes. Rallis said that he would also
forward the information to the Secretary General of the MFA,
the Greek Ambassador to the UN Mission in Geneva and to the
the UN Mission in New york as well as to Greece's Ambassador
in Washington. Rallis said that he would let us know if he
hears anything further on this matter.
