1. (C) On June 1, A/Polcouns delivered reftel points on
Russia and the CFE Treaty to MFA D2 NATO Directorate Deputy
Director Chronis Polychroniou. While Greek positions on CFE
and Russia have in the past tracked closely with U.S.
positions, Polychroniou could not provide an immediate
response to the demarche. Polychroniou said that the MFA
planned to consult with the MOD during the week of June 4-8,
and that he would be prepared to discuss the Greek position
at the HLTF meeting in Brussels scheduled for June 8.
