1. (SBU) On May 18, Poloff delivered reftel demarche on the
Proposed Arms Trade Treaty to Ambassador Alexandros Rallis of
the D1 Directorate for the United Nations and International
Organizations at the MFA. On May 21, Poloff met with Rallis
and with his assistant Dionyssios Kyvetos who handles
disarmament related issues in the D1 Directorate. Kyvetos
stated that in Greece's view, "this is a good place to start"
and that the Greek position was already determined on this
matter. Greece, he said, would vote in favor of the treaty,
adding that all EU members are in support of it.
