1. (U) EMBASSY passed the report entitled "Supporting Human Rights
and Democracy: The U.S. Record 2006" (SHRD),including the preface,
the introductQ and the chapter on Turkmenistan, via diplomatic
note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Post requested that the
ministry forward copies of the report to appropriate government
authorities dealing with human rights issues.


2. (U) EMBASSY also posted the English and Turkmen versions of the
report, including the preface, the introduction and the chapter on
Turkmenistan, on its website on May 4. The Russian translation will
also be posted on the website once the Russian page redesign is
complete.
