In response to our sharing reftel demarche and non-paper on
preparing for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Congress
in Geneva in May, the relevant MFA official gave assurance that the
U.S. position would be helpful as Turkey forms its position and
delegation, still in planning. She also shared our non-paper with
the Turkish State Meteorological Service. Referring to her
understanding that the U.S. welcomes the Swiss proposal on
governance in the WMO, she noted that Turkey is a co-sponsor.
