1. (C) We delivered reftel points to Bora Kerimoglu, Chief of
Section, MFA Department of Arms Control and Disarmament, and
urged GOT support for the U.S. proposal on Modifications to
UAV/Cruise Missile Criteria at the Oslo MTCR Technical
Experts Meeting. Kerimoglu told us on March 8 that Ministry
of Defense experts were still studying the proposal, but that
Turkey would not object to it in Oslo. Turkey will be
represented at the Oslo TEM by Tugrul Tinaztepe, a Ministry
of Defense engineer assigned to Roketsan, Turkey's national
missile research and production company.
