NOVEMBER 14-17 MINISTERIAL

1. (U) We delivered reftel points to Ministry of Foreign
Affairs Human Rights Department Head Hasan Ulusoy on November
6, 2007. Ulusoy reported that Mr. Yalcin Kaya Erensoy,
Turkey's Ambassador to Senegal, will represent Turkey at the
November 14-17 Mali Ministerial.
2. (U) Ulusoy told us the GOT has not yet formulated any
particular initiatives to put forward at the roundtables. He
said Turkey looks forward to sharing its own experiences on
the struggle against terrorism, the compatibility of
Democracy and Islam, and the creation of a vibrant civil
society. Ambassador Erensoy plans to work with CD
participants to create mechanisms for further cooperation on
these important issues.
