ON PARTICIPATION IN SEPT 8-9 EXPERTS-LEVEL MEETING IN

(C) On August 27 Polcouns raised Jordanian participation at
the September 8-9 experts-level meeting in Baghdad (reftel)
with Thamer Adwan, the Foreign Minister's office director.
Adwan confirmed that the GOJ had received the invitation from
the GOI and that a recommendation for Jordanian attendance
was with Prime Minister Bakhit's office for decision.
Polcouns noted the importance of robust engagement through
the neighbors' process and urged a prompt affirmative reply.
Adwan concurred, affirming that the GOJ is committed to
supporting any efforts which will enhance stability and
security in Iraq, and promised to follow up once a decision
was made.
