( C ) Foreign Minister Khatib informed Ambassador January 24
that the GOJ has agreed with a Norwegian NGO, the FAFO
Foundation, to study the extent and conditions of the Iraqi
population in Jordan. The nature of the collaboration
between the GOJ and FAFO is still being established, but
Khatib confirmed FAFO would work in full cooperation with
UNHCR and the IOM in completing its work. FAFO may seek
international donor support. Post will continue to report on
details as they develop.
