(SBU) On May 10, the Jordanian Senate endorsed without
changes the draft Anti-Money Laundering law approved by the
Lower House earlier this week (reftel). Central Bank
Governor Umayya Toukan told the Ambassador that he was
pleased with the law's endorsement and that he intends to
vigorously implement and enforce the new law. Once the law
is signed by the King, it will go into effect 30 days after
its publication in the Official Gazette.
