1. (U) This is a joint Legatt Amman ) Embassy Amman message.
2. (C) In response to REF A request for information regarding
Majid Talat Hajbeh, Legatt and Embassy note that Legatt's
attempt to determine Hajbeh's legal status was made in
coordination with DOS and DHS/ICE. Post is unaware if
Hajbeh,s legal status has been shared with DHS/ICE, but has
no objections to FBI HQ doing so.
3. (C) As previously reported in REF B, Jordan's General
Intelligence Directorate (GID) and the Ministry of Justice's
Director of International relations confidentially told
emboffs that Hajbeh has a clean record and is not/not wanted
in Jordan. Post is seeking confirmation from the Foreign
Ministry that the GoJ does not possess any documentation
regarding Hajbeh's legal status, and is awaiting receipt of a
GID statement of good conduct (ref B.)
