(U) This is an action request. Please see para ¶2. (SBU) Yousef Al-Otaiba, Director of International Affairs for Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan asked Ambassador for detailed information on U.S. humanitarian and military assistance to Lebanon. This request for information has come in response to USG requests for UAE support to the Lebanese Armed Forces, and in an effort to determine specific itemized requirements for Lebanon. Al-Otaiba specifically requested information that could be passed to the UAEG electronically. ¶3. (U) Action request: Please provide -- at the unclassified level -- a consolidated breakdown of USG military and humanitarian/economic assistance to Lebanon for the last 12 months.
